McClellan-Palomar Airport Terminal Redevelopment & Improvements, Carlsbad, CA

Mendoza & Associates is providing comprehensive construction management services for the $20 million expansion of this San Diego County regional airport. The project consists of a new terminal building, taxiways and aprons, security enhancements, extensive landscaping and site improvements, parking lots with automated equipment and a bridge connection to the terminal. This project is unusually complex in that multiple funding sources, and regulations require that different aspects be managed under FAA, CSI and/or San Diego County Standard Documents and Specifications.

Mendoza & Associates’ comprehensive scope of work has included extensive preconstruction design reviews, constructability reviews, and bid support, as well as Resident Engineering and inspection throughout construction. The Mendoza & Associates’ team brought project experience and expertise working with the client and designer to review design level documents and develop contract and bid documents, which facilitated obtaining a successful low bid within 2% of the Engineer’s estimate.
